Empty café tables on a quiet stone street, with flowers in the window.

What a romance scam looks like

The pattern of a fast romance, a meeting that never happens, and a request for money, vouchers, or a fee.
A phone face down beside an unopened envelope and a cold cup of tea.

A flirt that turns into a request for money is not a flirt. The story might be a locked account, a fare, a bill, or a fee they claim Only Flirts charged. We do not charge a fee to message. We will never ask you for a fee. Anyone who says otherwise is inventing a bill.

The early signs are speed, photos that do not quite belong to the conversation, and a reason they can never meet or appear on a video call. Spotting a fake profile is that list. Asking you onto another app is how the request leaves a place we can read. Why it is better to stay on the site is worth rereading before you move.

Do not send money, a gift card, or a bank code. Block them and report the profile. How to block and report is the control. If money has already gone, call your bank and tell us what was said.

A light conversation is not a reason to be careless with a payment. The tone can be charming and the ask can still be the whole point.
